Position Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role in supporting plant-level financial operations within a large, complex global organization. Reporting directly to the Controller, this position ensures accurate and timely financial reporting while delivering actionable insights to operations and leadership.
This role is intentionally designed as a succession path to the Controller position, providing broad exposure to financial planning, cost accounting, manufacturing KPIs, capital investment analysis, and operational finance within a global enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Close
- Support and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including P&L, capital base, and cash from operations
- Analyze actual results versus budget and forecast on a monthly basis
- Prepare financial reports and presentation materials for plant leadership and corporate stakeholders
Operations & Cost Accounting
- Partner with plant leadership and line managers to provide financial analysis and decision support
- Perform standard cost and variance analysis; maintain cost data within SAP
- Conduct cost studies, item-level analysis, and customer profitability analysis
- Support semi-annual physical inventory counts and reconcile results to the general ledger
- Perform annual fixed asset inventory and support capital expenditure tracking
Planning, Controls & Compliance
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and annual business planning in alignment with corporate finance requirements
- Support compliance with global financial policies, internal controls, and audit standards
- Provide financial data and analysis for capital appropriation requests
- Support internal and external audits as needed
General Support
- Approve vouchers for payment and support payroll coding accuracy
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects and process improvement initiatives
- Respond to ad hoc financial and operational reporting requests
- Maintain a professional, collaborative, and positive approach
- Extended hours may be required during month-end close or peak reporting periods
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis or accounting
- Strong background in a manufacturing or plant-based environment
- Demonstrated experience operating within a large, multi-site or global organization
- Deep knowledge of:
- Standard costing and variance analysis
- Inventory valuation, reconciliation, and movement analysis
- Manufacturing KPIs and operational metrics
- Capital expenditure tracking
- Internal controls and audit support
- ERP experience required (SAP and/or Oracle preferred)
