Area Manager, Building & Plumbing Supplies (Multi-Branch Oversight)
We are seeking an experienced Area Branch Manager with a proven track record of leading multiple wholesale branches simultaneously within the building supply, waterworks, plumbing, HVAC, or construction materials industry.
This leader will oversee branch performance, drive revenue growth, manage full P&L responsibility, and elevate customer service standards across multiple locations serving B2B contractor markets.
The ideal candidate has at least 3+ years of experience managing multiple branches concurrently in a B2B wholesale distribution environment and understands how to balance operational excellence with aggressive sales growth.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for multiple wholesale branch locations.
- Own full P&L responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting, margin management, and expense control.
- Drive revenue growth, market share expansion, and profitability across all branches.
- Lead and develop Branch Managers to achieve performance goals.
- Improve operational efficiency, inventory performance, and customer service metrics.
- Implement KPIs and accountability measures to ensure consistent execution.
- Strengthen relationships with key contractors and commercial accounts.
- Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement.
- Travel regularly throughout the district (up to 50%), including periodic overnight stays.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Minimum 3+ years of experience leading multiple wholesale branches simultaneously.
- 5+ years of leadership experience within building materials, waterworks supply, plumbing supply, HVAC distribution, pipe, valves & fittings (PVF), hydrants, pumps, water heaters, or related construction materials.
- Experience working in a B2B wholesale distribution environment.
- Proven experience managing full P&L responsibility.
- Demonstrated success growing branch revenue and improving profitability.
- Strong understanding of contractor-based selling environments.
- Experience improving customer service performance metrics.
- Experience serving commercial plumbers, residential plumbers, water utility contractors, excavation contractors, general contractors, and custom home builders.
- Ability to travel up to 50% within the region.
